Easter morning

Hannah immediately put on last year's Christmas dress when she woke up Easter morning...at least we are getting our money's worth!

The girls were excited to discover the Spring treats in their Easter baskets and then hunt around the playroom for the hidden eggs...

We didn't get a single picture of the kids dressed for church. Isaiah had outgrown his outfit, so I quickly found a different one. The 3 girls had matching dresses that I had bought for them a month ago, so they had been worn several times. Eliza's was found at the bottom of the clothes basket, with a nice spattering of spaghetti sauce on the front ( a few baby wipes took care of most of the stain). Clara had her dress, but Hannah's was no where to be found. After a search of the house and car, we gave up and let her choose a different dress. Then we searched 10 minutes for a brush to comb their hair. Not a single brush in this house of 4 girls!! Joe finally found one still packed away in the luggage from last week. I think it's fairly obvious that life around here is somewhat chaotic these days!! We had a great dinner, prepared by Grandma at our house and enjoyed the company of some good friends too! Joe had been reading through the book, Benjamin's Box, and having the girls open one of the Resurrection eggs each night leading up to Easter. Both Clara and Hannah were able to tell the Easter story of Christ's death and resurrection by the symbols in the eggs and begin to understand the gift Jesus gave us by dying for us. He is Risen Indeed!!

15 weeks...

Because that sounds younger than 3 1/2 months! Our baby really is growing up too fast. I wish I could just press "pause" for a while. Four months has been one of my very favorite stages with each of the kids, and Isaiah is just about there now. He gives the best smiles that just make you smile right back, loves to just stare at us and "talk" back and forth, and was giving Joe the cutest giggles the other night when Joe would dip him backwards. He's taking some nice, long naps during the day and sleeping 8-10 hours before waking up to eat at night. He's definitely a chubby little guy, and some pictures like this next one really show off his cheeks!

My two buddies this morning. Isaiah slept until 7:30 this morning and only woke up when Eliza came in to find us! The early morning is usually Eliza's time to have mommy to herself, so she wasn't too sure about sharing it with Isaiah. I think she discovered that it was pretty fun to have Isaiah to herself, though, and not have to compete for his smiles with her sisters!

When Eliza climbed in bed with me this morning, she (very loudly, which seems to be her only volume!) exclaimed, "My owie on my head is all better now!" She fell off a chair a couple days ago and got a huge lump on the back of her head. She then went on to tell me that Daddy had prayed to God that her owie would get better and it did! Then she told me that God is up in heaven and takes care of her and that Laide (our neighbor who just passed away) is up there with him now.......It is so sweet to hear her start to understand a little bit about her God!
