Is it naptime yet??

I have to say that laying Isaiah down for his nap is one of my favorite times of day, but seeing his head pop up over the edge of the crib with a huge smile when I come in to get him after he wakes up is another favorite time!  He is just. so. busy.  If I let him out of my sight for more than a few minutes, he is always up to some mischief!  He has started carrying the step stool around to where he wants to climb...

How we are communicating these days...

I heard the cutest little "uh, oh" coming from the living room this morning!  The loud "UH, UH" is what we usually hear, but this kid lets us know what he wants!  I love how Hannah talks right back to Isaiah in his "language" :)

First haircut by Daddy!

Daddy got out the clippers for Isaiah's quickly growing hair today.  He let Isaiah feel the buzzing clippers before he got started...

 and our handsome guy!  I LOVE it!!  Haircuts always make little boys look so much older, but this haircut actually reminds me of Isaiah around 6-7 months when his hair was just starting to really fill in, so I kind of feel like it makes him look younger....which is just fine with me, as he is growing up way too quickly!! :(

 Isaiah has an amazing determination to figure things out now.  He worked on putting this crayon into the top of the pen over and over again.  I would sometimes try to give him a little help, and he would scream and pull it away from me, then go right back to his "work".....it appears we have another fiercely independent child!

 He loves to put his special things into the stroller and then push them around the house, usually tipping it onto the back wheels like a wheelbarrow...

We had Isaiah's 1 yr doctor's appt yesterday (rescheduled since he was sick at the time of the last one).  He weighs exactly 23 lbs, which put him in the 25-50th%, and is 32 inches long, which puts him in the 90th%. He's a busy, growing boy!

Not much to report here lately, as we spent 2 weeks cooped up in the house being sick together :(  We had the stomach bug with a horrible flu virus right on its tail!  I sure hope we did our time for the year, as it was miserable!!  Isaiah has taken off with his walking and is working on a run to keep up with his sisters.  We joined the Y near our house, and have had a great time taking the kids swimming in the evening.  With 4 non-swimmers, though, I am really hoping this session of swim lessons that starts next week works some swimming miracles!  Clara actually swam about 15 feet on her own this week, so I'm thinking that she might make some great progress with her lessons!  Hannah is printing pictures like crazy and is a coloring machine!  She will sit and color 10 pictures in a row and staple them together into "books", giving each book a title and numbering her pages.  She is such an independent learner.  She still doesn't like to listen to instruction from me, so I just let her do her thing and then marvel at what she has apparently taught herself!  My favorite recent quote from Eliza is "I just need a job to do!"  She needs to be constantly busy, but is really the most diligent little worker if you give her something to do.  She scrubs the kitchen table and cuts vegetables for me with vigor!  I realized that it has been almost a month since I've posted any pictures of these cute faces for our out-of-town fans ;)  Here they are:

 I didn't have a recent picture of Hannah, so I asked her if I could take one.....she wrapped her blanket around herself like a long evening gown, and struck this model pose by the window! :)
