One month old!

This first month has flown by! Eliza continues to be a sweet, content little one. She barely fusses when she's hungry and just looks around during diaper changes. We are loving her snuggles, and she has decided that sleeping in bed with us is the most comfortable place to be....some day we'll work on the crib, but for now, we are enjoying our 4-5 hour stretches of sleep! She was 9 lbs. this week at her check-up and has outgrown her newborn clothes.

Princess Daddy

Joe has given in to the crowns, necklaces, dressing princess dolls, and even earrings!!! He and Clara had just finished playing her new Pretty Princess game. She thought it was hilarious when he put the earrings on. I think it was more fun for Clara to watch him dress up in jewelry than winning the game. What a great dad to his girls!

1st walk in the neighborhood

All bundled up for her first time outdoors.....it might be a while before we get out again with this freezing cold weather!! We took advantage of some beautiful sunshine earlier this week and walked the neighborhood while Clara and Hannah rode their trikes.

Clara has taught Hannah about the wonderful world of dresses! Clara loves to pick out Hannah's outfits for her, and it's even better when they match her own!!

Eliza's first bath

This is how our third child took her first bath....with lots of help washing her hair from two big sisters!

Cozy in her warm towel straight out of the dryer. Joe always puts the girls' towels in the dryer during their bath, so they can wrap up in a warm towel when they get out.

Help Arrives

Aunt Molly arrived to stay with us for a few days after we came home from the hospital. Our initial challenge with Eliza was feeding. She was born with a cleft palate and eats from a special bottle. We had been basically squeezing the milk into her mouth for her feedings and thought that might be how she would need to eat. Molly is a NICU nurse at a Portland hospital, and besides lots of experience with feeding infants, she has the most patience that I have ever seen! She sat patiently with Eliza and worked on having her suck from her bottle. Pretty quickly we realized that she could do it, and it has made such a difference in feeding her! Molly also took a few naps with Eliza:)

Julie and my mom arrived as Molly left to head back to work in Portland. They have been invaluable, helping entertain the girls, cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, and helped us get out of the house to the mall for our first outing today! It only took 4 1/2 hours of preparation to make it to the car!

Good Morning!

You would think with two older sisters, Eliza would have plenty of pink to wear, but we don't have many newborn sizes, so she is already in one of the gender-neutral outfits! This is one of the "maybe it will be a boy this time" outfits that I picked up before we had our ultrasound. She's still pretty cute in grey, though!
