Fun with a hat...

Eliza loves to try on hats, shoes, purses, and jewelry these days....she is an accessory girl!

I finally gave in and snipped her bangs so that the hair wasn't covering her eyes. I wanted to keep letting it grow out, but she is our third little one to refuse wearing clips and ponytails!

Easter weekend...

Clara and Hannah helped me make a batch of hot cross buns on Good Friday. Clara found out that writing her letters in flour is a lot more fun than on paper!

We ended up with a few dough balls that wouldn't fit on the baking sheet, so the girls did some of their own "cooking". I love the very serious expressions on both of them!
Time for a bath!!

Eliza found a cozy spot to eat her snack while the girls were baking...

This is such a classic "Eliza look"!! She has such a twinkle in her eyes when she gives us this half-smile. It is usually when she is teasing us by pretending to hand something to us, then grabbing it back and running away!

Saturday morning, the girls helped decorate the bunny cake to take with us to visit the Portland cousins

Easter morning in Portland before church....

Eliza LOVED her first egg hunt!! She ran from egg to egg, dropping them into her Elmo basket...

It was hard to get a clear picture because she wouldn't stop moving!

The cousins deemed Dylan the "winner"! He is so amazingly fast, he probably scooped up half the hidden eggs-way to go, Dylan!!!

Aunt Heathyr's chicken coop is in the background. She built it herself!! The baby chicks are growing up in their garage right now, and the girls LOVED getting to hold them!

Hannah was SO excited to hold a baby chick..

and got very serious about holding it gently....

Eliza would gently touch one chick, and then immediately point into the bin and scream "Mo" for the next one! Aunt Heathyr said that it's good to handle them a lot as babies so that they are used to people when you go to gather their eggs as adults.....these chicks got a LOT of handling this weekend!!

All three girls were sound asleep after just a few minutes on the freeway on the way back up to Seattle!! What a fun weekend!!

Eliza has graduated from finger painting, and now paints with her feet!

She is as flexible as she is creative!

Silly girl!

One of her new favorite tricks! She loves to grab the end of the toilet paper and pull it with her to the far corner of the house! Then she usually takes it back and finishes unrolling the entire roll-unless we catch her first!!

Clara watched an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse where they were decorating eggs for Easter, and came up with this idea.....decorated bread! She got out all her ingredients from the fridge, drew a picture on paper of the steps she would follow, and then created this masterpiece!

And then some funny things they said the past few days that I don't want to forget:

Eliza was reaching up to touch the knobs on the stove, and I told Hannah that we didn't have that same stove when she and Clara were babies, so I'm going to need to figure out how to make it safe for a baby. Hannah's reply: "Oh, I think we can't have a baby now!" (She must think that is the easier solution....just get rid of the baby!)

Clara overheard me talking with a friend about a theological debate, and my friend and I were both talking about our opinions....Clara said (in a somewhat exasperated tone) "Why don't you just wait until you get to heaven and ask God?"

Hannah was watching a squirrel run around outside and asked me, "Mommy, will I be allergic to squirrels if they have nuts in their hands?" (She has a peanut allergy) :(

Clara was trying to get Eliza ready to go and yelled, "Mommy, I can't get Eliza's coat on her! It is a nightmare!"
